One-to-One IR Focusing Sessions“I want to get some relief from this anxiety (or fear or tension).” “I want to get beyond feeling so stuck.” “I’d like to know right away if this is going to work for me.” “I want expert help to know if I’m doing it right.” Receiving a one-to-one guided IR Focusing session (on the phone or in person) is the most direct way to experience the benefits of Focusing immediately. You’ll be guided through the process in a way that is respectful, confident, and unobtrusive. You can expect to feel deeply understood, with your concerns and your goals at the center of the work. • A Focusing session is an experience of deep contact with yourself. • You are guided to be with your emotions (instead of being caught up in them), leading to greater calm and more resources to deal with your issues. • You make contact with your bodily felt senses, which are doorways into fresh energy and new steps in your life. • You experience a compassionate inner relationship with your emotional states and felt senses, which allows even the most stuck places to begin to shift and change. What happens after the session? What’s next? What if I want to have more sessions? Is it therapy or coaching? Scheduling Your In-Person or Telephone Focusing Sessions Most people have their guided Focusing sessions by phone. If you are in the US, Ann will call you for your session, and if you are outside the US, you will be given a special number to call when your session is scheduled. If you are local to or visiting the San Francisco Bay Area, Ann Weiser Cornell also offers individual guided Focusing sessions in Berkeley, California. The session location is within walking distance of BART and other public transportation, and has convenient free parking. When contacting us about scheduling a Focusing session, please let us know: • your preferred dates and times (Mondays through Thursdays during the daytime and evening hours, Pacific Time); • if this is this is your first Focusing session; • if you'd like a phone or in-person (Berkeley, CA) session; • your contact information including your phone number. We'll get back to you promptly. If you prefer, you can use our online scheduler to see what times are available, and even to book your own session. You choose your session type, and then a calendar appears where you can see days that have available times. Above the calendar is a place to choose your own time zone, so you can see the available sessions in your own time. Once your phone session is scheduled, we ask that you pay in advance, either by credit card online using our secure Shopping Cart system (see below) or by phone/fax. If you prefer, you may pay by check mailed to Focusing Resources to arrive in time for your session. If your session will be held in person, you can wait until the session to pay. All sessions are 50 minutes and cost $160. If this is your very first guided Focusing session, your session will include time for your questions before and after the session, and suggestions for further practice. After a session is booked, we ask for a 48-hour notice for changing or canceling the appointment, or we will need to charge for the time as if the session were held. "The very first Focusing session I did with Ann was transformative, powerful, magical. It allowed me to gain access to parts of myself that years of different kinds of inner work had never led me to. It was like being with a master guide/teacher who was also a very human, very present being who could be with me so skillfully that I could get out of my own way enough to listen to myself, really start to listen to hidden parts of my heart." –Abbe Blum, education consultant, Berkeley CA |
