Tips for Focusing Alone

For the final session of the Focusing Alone course I ask everyone to find some sheets of white paper, the larger the better, and colored pens or crayons or colored pencils or water colors.

People are often astonished at how helpful these are for Focusing alone. Not everyone feels this way, but you might be one of the people whose Focusing is facilitated by working art supplies.

Starting next week I’ll talk about the three ways I know about to use this kind of material to support Focusing. And in the meantime, you might want to try it out for yourself and notice what you discover!

Tips for Focusing with a Partner

Why Focus with a partner if you can Focus alone? No reason… except that there may be some issues whose depth and delicacy is really helped by the presence of a partner. You might even be able to sense–using Focusing of course!–that something you’re working with needs a partner… or perhaps in some cases, needs you to work alone.

Personally I found and still find Focusing with a partner much easier than Focusing alone, for many reasons. But if you don’t have a partner… or for those times when your partner isn’t available…

The Focusing Institute does offer a Focusing partnership matching program, and you can find the link to it right here.
