What People Are Saying

“I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the priceless gift of Focusing. The difference it has made in my life — and continues to make — is phenomenal. It has opened up many doors for me and there is a great deal of power behind those doors. … For the first time I can look at what is inside of me and answer some of the problems I’ve been tripping over for so long. And through it I am learning to love and appreciate myself. I like to think of Focusing as the flower that shattered the stone.”

Course Information

About the Course

The third course in the Focusing Training Program deepens and expands your process, both as Focuser and as Companion. In Focusing Level Three, the Companion starts being able to make supportive suggestions if the Focuser would like them. For this to happen, both people in the partnership learn a model for the typical “shape” of a Focusing session, so you know what stage the process is in, and what kind of reminder would be most supportive at that stage.

Level Three is often called the “deep structure” of Focusing.

The Level Two tutorial is specifically designed for people who have taken a Focusing Level Two course but need to get the special Inner Relationship aspects of the training… which are significant, and will contribute in important ways to the success of your Level Three.

The tutorial is composed of two one-hour meetings at $100 per meeting, and these are scheduled at mutually agreeable times. NOTE: This is a special low fee; use the coupon code FR20 to receive this fee.

Included in this price are all handouts and Exercise Sheets needed for the tutorial.

Currently the following Focusing teacher is authorized to offer the Level Two tutorial:

What People Are Saying

  • Michele T.
"Focusing has made my relationship with my past very different. I have many traumatic memories and have never dealt with them very well. Many years of therapy taught me that I needed to "re-live" my past experiences in order to heal them. Focusing brought the idea that "something in me" is bringing me a memory (that may or may not be traumatic), for a reason. That it's not necessarily that something in my past is unhealed, but that some aspect of a past memory is relevant to something today. After completing Level Three, I find I have hope that my past will no longer haunt me, but help me."
  • Kelly V.
"Level Three really took me far on my journey to deepen my understanding and practice of Focusing as an empowered focuser. It also allowed me to be present to my companions in ways that support their own processes in ever greater ways. Carol's way of being facilitator/teacher and the content of this course itself is so beautifully congruent. Her approach is welcoming, inviting, and creates an environment in which we can feel safe and grow in rich ways as we further deepen our process of both Focusing and companioning. The course also re-enforced the core principals that formed my foundational process and understanding of what Focusing is. I will carry all the ways I grew forward with me as I begin Level Four with great joy."
  • Simon, Okinawa, Japan
"Level 3 was wonderful! The new content, about giving reminders, was very helpful and really deepened my focusing process, though for me the real joy was just in the simple fact of being in a (virtual) classroom with a group of like-minded people all keen to learn about focusing. I learned huge amounts by simply listening to the other participants ask questions and talk about their processes, and of course the opportunity to ask my own questions to our teachers was invaluable, as was their kind and thoughtful responses and feedback. I took two mornings off work so I could attend all 5 classes and I am so glad I did. I'll miss it now the course is over - time to start looking forward to Level 4!"
  • Maggie W., Scotland
Maggie W. Scotland Level 3 felt like a bedding in, beginning to feel there were sufficient roots in the ground of training we had already received, that we could look around a bit and further understand just what was going on during the focusing process. And by doing that, honing our skills further. Quite a few times, the process of learning focusing this way has reminded me of learning to drive a car, and in my case- going from having driven in the farm for quite a while, to learning how to drive with others on the open road. In level 3, it felt as if we were being offered more responsibility both as focusers and companions- no longer practicing in quiet suburbia, but learning to manoeuvre in town, where lots is going on. I found the way of introducing the offering of reminders worked well, taking into account any shy reticent parts in the Companion, which were diligently 'not interfering' in the Focuser's process, and bringing in a strong sense of collaborative dance between the focuser and companion, with always the focuser in the lead. The whole teaching and learning process has been very well considered and rehearsed and runs really smoothly.
