Navigating the Edge: A Treasure Maps Master Class

Navigating the Edge: A Treasure Maps Master Class

It can be challenging to support the deep Treasure Maps work in the midst of daily life. And you know there is more – more depth, more subtlety, more distinctions about parts and process that can help in those potentially life-changing Treasure Maps Focusing sessions.

What People Are Saying...

“I genuinely consider the Treasure Maps approach to be a collective work of genius. It is powerful. It works. It reaches the parts I find other approaches don’t. Nothing else has so kindly and enjoyably allowed me to recognize and turn towards parts of myself I never imagined I could. I have done the course twice now and would happily do it again. Unending depth. It is fascinating, fun and skilfully delivered. What treasures Ann and Barbara are!”

Even More Support and Guidance…

We would love to give you more. The concepts that have been emerging in the last year are some of the most intriguing we have ever worked with. Here are just some of the topics we will be exploring in this course:

  • How to deal with hijack – and what IS hijack? Is it always related to the past? Is it done by a Defender, or by a Defender/Protector alliance?
  • The Small One – what is it really? How can it be both terribly wounded and basically OK?
  • New discoveries about Self-in-Presence: SiP as powerful, gutsy, sensual, enthusiastic, humorous, capable of anger and grief
  • The exiling process: How to tell that a part is exiled and who is exiling it. Pain as an exiled part.
  • What do we mean by “the unlived life” and how do we discover it?
  • What are parts? Can they change completely and be just gone? What happens to parts when the issue transforms and carries forward?
  • What is “shame” in the Treasure Maps theory and how do we work with it?
  • The four territories of Swamp (action blocks), Wilderness (addictions), Pit (depression), and Mountain Top (unfulfilled desire) and how they all express dynamics that can be seen in every Tangle
  • We’ll explore one of our “leading edge” topics.
  • We’ll work with a participant for about 25 minutes as a demo of bringing Treasure Maps work into a Focusing session. In an actual demo, we can show even more than we can articulate about the power of this work.
  • After the demo we’ll discuss what happened in the session, what made this a Treasure Maps session (as opposed to just a Focusing session), looking at both the Focuser’s and the Companion’s roles.
  • Next we’ll offer specific ways to bring the insights from the class into your Treasure Maps partnership sessions.
  • There are partnership exercises each week that relate to the topic and demo for that week.
  • You’ll have an assigned partner from the class each week.
  • If you have a Treasure Maps partner, and you and your partner are taking the class together, we’re happy to partner you together either all or part of the time if you prefer.
  • Consultation opportunities as you bring your problems, questions, and difficulties with your Treasure Maps Focusing (and partnership).
  • For healing professionals, discussions of how to bring Treasure Maps into your work with clients.
  • The opportunity to explore your own Tangle through the ten weeks of the course – with great potential for transformation.
  • Of course, great handouts!

What People Are Saying About Treasure Maps Work

  • Rose Sposito
rosesposito"What drew me to this course? I felt the need to dive deeper into the internal landscape of this profound tool that Ann & Barbara have so beautifully and precisely constructed. I now have a better roadmap to recognize, identify, and more fully understand what the different parts in me are wanting to convey, which enables me to have a fuller, richer life. The special thing about this course is being with other folks with whom there is a realness and an authenticity happening. As well as a compassionate deep listening with no agenda. The moment I knew this course was making a difference for me was when I realized that I have all the resources I need to lead a great life. That was an AHA! moment. The greatest gift is that my body has so much wisdom to offer when I heed its message and trust it profoundly."
  • Sudamani Muth, Zürich, Switzerland
"I can't even express how much I enjoy Ann and Barbara's Treasure Maps work. It's expanding perfection without ever getting trapped in concepts. They should get a Nobel Prize for it."
  • Cassandra L.
"This may sound a bit incredible, but my life has changed entirely since I began this course. Before, I struggled with getting myself to bed, engaging in endless diversions until I was exhausted. Now I find myself looking forward to sleep (Ahh delicious sleep!) and able to say "no" to the diversions. Needless to say, this has greatly improved my life!"
  • Emily Agnew
EmilyAgnew TeacherBio"Navigating the Edge was an amazing deep dive into Ann and Barbara's Treasure Maps work. I've had big shifts at the 6-day in-person retreats and wondered if that was possible outside that intensive atmosphere. The answer is a big "YES!!" I had profound personal shifts during this class. And I got exciting new information to navigate this terrain as well as a fresh, deeper understanding of concepts I'd heard before."
  • Bob Horowitz
"I've really valued Navigating the Edge. During a challenging time, it's helped me to evolve my ability to recognize and work with parts and to see how their dynamics play out in daily life. Barbara and Ann are passionate, gifted, and approachable teachers who show time and again how Focusing can deepen your sense and enjoyment of who you are."
  • Helen Bower, Stroud, England
HelenBower"I genuinely consider the Treasure Maps approach to be a collective work of genius. It is powerful. It works. It reaches the parts I find other approaches don’t. Nothing else has so kindly and enjoyably allowed me to recognize and turn towards parts of myself I never imagined I could. It is not easy, of course. However, it has a simple model and a clear, flexible approach. I have done the course twice now and would happily do it again. Unending depth. It is fascinating, fun and skilfully delivered. What treasures Ann and Barbara are!"
